Annotated references, without the highlighter.

For medical, legal and regulatory review: every claim goes to reviewers with its source passage highlighted and labelled, and an evidence table they can follow.

Why annotating references takes so long

Every claim needs its passage found in the right PDF, highlighted, and labelled with the reference number. Reviewers then check each highlight against the claim, and every query sends you back into the PDFs.

The work is careful and repetitive, and it is redone for every draft.

How the annotated references get made

  1. Add the piece and its references. RefPack finds every cited claim and matches each reference to its PDF.
  2. Check each claim against its passage. Use AI search to suggest passages, or find them yourself.
  3. Record your decisions. Approve, reject or mark a source unavailable, with a reason where it matters.
  4. Export the annotated sources. Each passage is highlighted and labelled with its reference number, ready to attach for review.

What your reviewers receive

  • Source PDFs with each supporting passage highlighted and labelled
  • An evidence table listing every claim, its passage and your decision
  • A list of exceptions: missing PDFs and anything still open
  • Your declaration, so it is clear the decisions are yours

Questions

Does RefPack connect to our review system?

Not directly. You attach the pack's annotated PDFs and evidence table in your review system, as you do today.

Can reviewers see the AI's suggestions?

The pack shows your decisions. Colouring by AI verdict is off by default and is meant for internal drafts.

Try it on your next manuscript.
